Meet Jim
I'm Jim Desmond — a father, husband, U.S. Navy Veteran, Delta Air Lines pilot for 33 years, former Mayor of San Marcos, and your San Diego County Supervisor. My life has been dedicated to service, leadership, and getting things done — whether it's in the cockpit, the Mayor's office, or at the County level.
This community is part of who I am. I didn't come here to run for office — I built my life here. This is where my son did his Boy Scout training. This is where I coached, volunteered, and put down roots. This district isn't just a place on a map to me — it's home.
The hardworking families in the 48th District are facing real challenges that are being ignored — rising costs, a housing crisis, and endless gridlock in Washington. It's time for common sense to return to our government. We need leaders focused on delivering real solutions, not scoring political points.
I'm running for Congress because I know this community — its families, its challenges, its potential — and I've spent my career putting Southern California first. In Congress, that won't change.
