Meet Jim

Why I’m Running For Congress In The 48th District

I'm Jim Desmond — a father, husband, U.S. Navy Veteran, Delta Air Lines pilot for 33 years, former Mayor of San Marcos, and your San Diego County Supervisor. My life has been dedicated to service, leadership, and getting things done — whether it's in the cockpit, the Mayor's office, or at the County level.

The hardworking families of California's 48th District are facing real challenges — rising costs, a housing market shutting out the next generation, and a government that too often forgets who it works for. These aren't partisan issues. They're kitchen table issues, and they deserve serious attention.

I'm running for Congress because this community deserves a representative who understands those challenges firsthand. Common sense leadership shouldn't be hard to find — but too often, it is.

I've spent my career solving problems, not creating them. In Congress, I'll do the same — focused on delivering real solutions for the families of the 48th District, not scoring political points.

 In Congress, I’ll Fight For

Lower Costs And Affordability

for families and seniors struggling with inflation and rising living expenses.

Safer Communities

by addressing crime, homelessness, and mental health challenges head-on.

A Strong Border

that fixes our broken immigration system by securing our border and creating a legal process.

Support For Our Military And Veterans

ensuring they receive the resources and respect they deserve.

The 48th District needs a representative who works for the people. With my track record of leadership and proven ability to get results, I’m ready to bring your voice to Washington.

It’s time for change. It’s time for solutions. It’s time for common sense to return. Together, we can make it happen.

Your support is the driving force behind this campaign. Whether it’s donating, or volunteering every action makes a difference. We're powered by grassroots efforts, not special interests, and every dollar you contribute helps us take this fight to Washington and bring real solutions back to the 48th Congressional District. I would be honored to have you stand with me. Together, we can win this battle for a better, stronger future for our country.
